Legal
Terms of use
These terms govern your use of BusinessStartTools. The service is provided by CONVERENTIS DIGITAL VENTURE, trading as BusinessStartTools ("we", "us"), and your agreement is with us.
Acceptance
By accessing or continuing to use the service, or by creating an account or purchasing a plan, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You confirm that you are of legal age and, where you use the service for an organisation, that you have authority to bind it.
What the service is
BusinessStartTools is a set of calculators, planners, checklists and guides that structure your own numbers and answers, with optional accounts, saved plans, workspaces, sharing and an AI planning assistant. It contains no price database and no market data: every figure in a result is one you entered, or a documented calculation applied to what you entered.
Your account
You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date, keep your credentials confidential, and you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly of any unauthorised use.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the service unlawfully, or for fraud, spam or abusive messaging;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
- interfere with security: uploading malware, probing or scanning, bypassing access controls, automated scraping, or overwhelming our systems;
- reverse engineer, resell, redistribute or circumvent plan limits or technical restrictions;
- use the AI assistant to generate illegal content, hate speech, malware or deceptive material, or to attempt to bypass its safeguards.
You are responsible for what you submit, including the rights to any content you input, and for verifying any AI output before relying on it. We may remove content, filter or refuse outputs and restrict accounts where these rules are broken.
Intellectual property
We own the service and all intellectual property in it, including the software, calculations, guides, templates, design and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within the plan you have selected. You keep ownership of the content you enter, and you grant us a limited licence to host and process it solely to provide the service to you.
Paid plans and billing
Pro and Business plans are sold as monthly or annual subscriptions at the prices shown on the pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled, and applicable taxes are added at checkout. You can cancel at any time from your billing page; paid features remain available until the end of the period you have already paid for. Refunds are covered by our refund policy. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are also governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms.
Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. On termination your access ends; you should export anything you need before then, and remaining data is handled as described in the privacy notice.
Disclaimer
We are not a law firm, accounting firm, financial adviser, consultancy, lender, government service, company registration agent or trademark authority. Nothing here is legal, tax, accounting, investment or financial advice, and no profitability, funding, market success, legal approval, name availability or trademark availability is guaranteed. Outputs are estimates based on your assumptions and will differ from real outcomes; registration, licensing and tax requirements vary by location and change over time. Verify anything that matters with the relevant authority or a qualified professional before acting.
Service level and warranties
The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance and may change or withdraw features. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important.
Liability
Decisions you make remain yours. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, including lost profits, data or goodwill, and our total aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. You will indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the service, or your breach of these terms.
General
We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. You may not assign your rights without our consent; we may assign ours in a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control. These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CONVERENTIS DIGITAL VENTURE is established, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes.
